Jumping Off the Jetty – Sub2o Blog

August 2, 2014

Mikes latest article with Dive Advisor on their Sub2o blog is now out!  In the article he discusses how jetties and piers are very under rated for both divers and underwater photographers.

Here is an excerpt:  Piers and jetties often get a bad rap when it comes to divers, since many don’t show much interest in exploring docks at all. The most common excuses tend to be entanglement hazards from fishing lines, the potential for trash in the water, or the dreadful feeling of claustrophobia from being underneath a large object.

Always love diving under the jetty..unfortunately still unable to capture good shot of jetty in wide angle perspective..Had amazing jetty diving experience in Paradise Jetty, North Sulawesi. Alyui Jetty Raja Ampat is also nice for night diving..Thanks for the article. Nice to read and bring memories back.

Hi Indah, yes Paradise Jetty is a very good muck dive with lots of critters, we also had great dives there with many seahorses and frogfish, however it is quite a difficult to capature a great image from it. If you would like to take a nice picture from a jetty you should come and join us in Bali. We have a great jetty dive with clear water and lots of nice critters.
